How to stay safe on the internet'

The title for my animation is 'How to stay safe on the internet'

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/internet-security/11154546/Five-top-tips-for-staying-safe-online.html

From the telegraph's article, I decided to pick a few points which are :-

  • Privacy settings
  • Avoid any unnecessary websites and suspicious emais from strangers.

Images above are information that I will include in my animation.

Typography

UltraNAS intro animation from Benny Box on Vimeo.

I like how the tex jump inside the screen (skip to 12 seconds). I think I might need to choose the right front (maybe 3D looking font) or I should try to produce one manually as I am good at drawing 3D font. I like the colour scheme of the font and its background too.

Colourful will make the animation easier to attract especially my main target audience is teenagers as well as parents.

Peer Review

My proposal.

 Below are peers sheets review.

There are few main points that my peers raised which:-
  • two animations are too much maybe focusing on one topic or do another animation about 'staying safe on the internet' or 'the bad things about the internet'.
  • pick the right font instead of making my own font. Download from defont or speak to graphic students or tutors.
  • don't forget to insert some illustrations (not just type)

Experiments

As mentioned, I want to produce two 1.30 minutes animation. I want to inform my target audience which are parents and teenagers to aware of internet addiction and cyber bully.

Here I experimented with After Effect typography for the opening of my internet addiction animation.

I started with this one but I don't think it look professional. The idea of adding 'Are you an internet addict?' on an internet symbol. I like the idea but I think it is not professional enough and maybe need a bit more thinking.

Then I experimented with my 2nd idea

I changed the colour from blue to red, as I think red is more eye catching and red symbolise 'important' and 'warning' to indicate that net addiction is a serious matter. I like having the title slide into the screen but I am not sure if the concept 'slide in' is citable for the title.

Then I experimented with my 3rd idea

I like having the title in the middle and internet sign on each side. Hmm, now I'm confuse. I might need to think and do a lot more research and thinking.

I also need to do a text so my animation will go with the text and need someone to read the text which mean I need to book a voice record studio.

Practical research.

I want to create motion graphic. I know this will take ages to finish but I think I can manage. I want to do this as my practical side of COP because my target audience (parent and teenagers) are interested in moving image and I think there are too much leaflet our there and bearly people read them. So by animating some part of my dissertation will inform my target audience about the danger on the internet.
